We are Empowred to Prosper
“but remember the Lord your God! It is he who gives you the power to become rich, keeping the •agreement [covenant; treaty] he promised to your •ancestors [fathers], as it is today.” EXB
Do you still say being rich is sin? Do you still say having money is ungodly? You better get your mind set right, it’s a big NO! God wants us to prosper in life and live in abundance as it is in His primary plan for us to be wealthy for wealth belongs to Him. Haggai 2:8. In this verse above, the author, Moses warns God’s children to remember the Lord their God when they become rich for it is not their efforts that they have become rich but it is through God’s empowerment so that He may establish His covenant with them.
God does not enter into the covenant with a poor man, He makes him rich first, that’s why the bible records, “For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you through his poverty might become rich. 2 Corinthians 8:9 NIV. Upon receiving Jesus Christ you were empowered to become wealthy, if you are not materially rich it’s because this revelation was not yet revealed to you.
Wealth belongs to God, money belongs to God. He has given us authority over the resources, over gold and silver as His stewards to look after it on His behalf. It makes Him sad to see a poor Christian because He is prepared to transfer the wealth from the sinners to the righteous, Prov. 13:21-22. Refuse to be broke from now onwards, refuse to be a poor Christian. Know your power to get rich. Follow God’s principle, give it shall be given to you, good measure pressed down together and running over. Luke 6:38. Honour the Lord with thy first fruit, with your increase in resources and pay tithes and offering and you will experience His abundance in all your resources.
