“But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. 1 Peter 2:9 ESV.”

On this verse above “but you” is a direct contrast between those who believe in Jesus Christ and those who do not. Those who believe in Jesus are totally separated and given a special title “royal (kings whom by virtue of birth through the blood of Jesus Christ are given the power and the authority to issue a decree and is honored as is, whom given power to judge and overrule over all circumstances of life) priesthood (unlike in the OT whereby only certain people who were by birth in a certain tribe could become priests such as Levites, we are now also given privilege and grace through the blood of Jesus Christ to offer spiritual sacrifices to God…verse 5).

We are set apart for God’s use only; to build His Kingdom. We are a precious stone, a precious resource in God’s kingdom, Jesus Christ being the chief cornerstone. (v.7). We are God’s possession, He uses us on earth to establish every good work on His behalf; we meant to glow just like Him so that we may proclaim His excellencies in the place that is full of light, a place where darkness cannot stand the light of God (Greek, cabod which means the glory of God). As His children, we are given the authority over darkness, authority to declare light over every dark situation in life. We are given power to create things that does not exist into existence. Rom 4:17.

We are made in the image of God, we are the snapshot of God on earth, when the world looks at us they see God. We are made in the likeness of God, meaning that the seed and the veins are the same; as of God, I am talking about the seed or rather the nature of creating creations, the nature of declaring things to come into existence as they were primarily. If you don’t understand your power as a child of God, you are like a missile bomb, it has power to destroy a nation but its power is only proven when its owner releases it's potential. Our owner is God, He is our source of power; in Him, Jesus Christ gave us the power to become sons through His blood.

You are a dangerous weapon, you can destroy the nations of darkness. You possess power to trample upon dangerous serpents and uproot all forces of darkness concerning your life through the name of Jesus, the name that is above all other names, the name that has been given authority over the heavens, in the earth and under the earth. By virtue as a child of God, you possess a license to operate and use this dangerous weapon, the name of Jesus to pull-down every strong-hold. We are kings, we are gods, we are creators we are royal priesthoods, let us take advantage of this wonderful gift from God to do mighty things under the sun.

Psalm 82:6; Genesis 1:26-28; Luke 10:19; Romans 4:17; 2 Corinthians 10:4-5; Galatians 4:7; Romans 8:17

Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for making me a king to rule over all circumstances in life; I have power destroy all devils bordering my life. I declare that from now onwards, I will reign as a king on earth and enjoy every earthly blessing in order to live a life that glorifies God. I declare that I am no longer poor but wealthy in every area of my life and I will use my power and my authority to command wealth to locate me in Jesus name I pray.
