THE JOURNEY ENDS IN JORDAN
Thursday, March, 10, 2016
Then Elijah said to him, "Stay here, please, for the LORD has sent me on to the Jordan." But he said, "As the LORD lives, and as your soul lives, I will not leave you!" So the two of them went on (2 Kings 2:6 NKJV)
There are quite some few exciting things about Jericho in the biblical history. In the new testament, Jericho is first place where the water baptism started when John the Baptist baptized all those who repented from their sins. It is the same place where our Lord Jesus was also baptized in order to begin His ministry on earth ( Matt. 3:13)·
In our opening scripture above, we learn that again Elijah pursued Elisha to remain behind again so that he may go and accomplish God's mandate but Elisha refuses again because he understood the prophetic signs and laguage about the grace that he was to receive from Elijah.
All along Elisha new Elijah as his mentor, leader, friend and a brother or rather as a prophet of God. But when it comes to receiving the prophetic mantle, for the first time he called him his father (2 Kings 2:12). Here he received the prophetic revelation that in order to receive the impartation of grace from the man of God, you must first acknowledge him as your father. Most people wants to receive grace from the men of God but they fail to recognise them as their spiritual fathers.
Jericho is a final destination for every child of God. It is a place of knowing your spiritual father. It is a place of open heavens where you don't have to sweat and fast and pray in order for you to receive your grace of breakthrough in life, here you just need to swallow your pride and submit to the man of God as your spiritual father in order to receive his grace and operate under his anointing and pay your tithes to him in order to connect to his spirit.
Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for this revelation knowledge, show me my spirutual father today as I pray, the man I must submit to, the one who provides to me the direction to take in life and the one who stands by me in dark weathers in my life and opens my heavens in Jesus name I have prayed. Amen.
